Right Triangle Calculator

Solve all dimensions of a right-angled triangle. Input any two known values (legs, hypotenuse, or angles) to instantly determine the complete geometry.

Solving Right-Angled Triangles

A right triangle is a triangle in which one angle is exactly 90 degrees (a right angle). The relationships between the sides and angles of a right triangle form the basis of trigonometry.

a² + b² = c²

The famous Pythagorean Theorem allows us to calculate any side as long as we know the other two. When combined with trigonometric definitions (Sine, Cosine, and Tangent), we can solve the entire triangle with just a side and an angle!

Required Inputs

To fully solve a right triangle, you must provide at least two values, at least one of which must be a side length (a, b, or c).

Solved Values

Our calculator automatically resolves the remaining side lengths, acute angles (α and β), total area, perimeter, and the altitude perpendicular to the hypotenuse.
